Hearty Heritage Stew

Tasty beef and tender veggies in a rich brown broth, this fast and easy family favorite is made even better with Heritage Ribeye Steak Cubes.

Ingredients

  • 1 12oz. package of Heritage Ribeye Steak Cubes
  • 1.5 tablespoons flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1.5 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 onion, chopped
  • 3 cups beef broth
  • 1/4 cup red wine (optional)
  • 1/2 could potatoes peeled and cubed
  • 2 carrots cut into 1 inch pieces
  • 2 stalks celery cut into 1 inch pieces
  • 1.5 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary or 1 sprig fresh
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 3/8 cup peas

Directions

  1. Combine flour, garlic powder, salt and pepper and toss Heritage Ribeye Steak Cubes into the flour mixture coating evenly.
  2. In a large Dutch oven or pot heat the olive oil and cook the Heritage Ribeye Steak Cubes and onions until beef is brown.
  3. Add beef broth and red wine to the the beef while deglazing the pan.
  4. Stir in the remaining ingredients except for the peas, cornstarch and water.
  5. Reduce heat to medium low, cover and simmer 1 hour or until beef is tender.
  6. To achieve desired consistency, mix equal parts cornstarch and water and slowly add to the boiling stew.
  7. Stir in peas and simmer 5 minutes before serving.
  8. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
