Greek-Style Beef Gyro
A symphony of toppings including tzatziki, lettuce, tomato, feta, onion, and cucumber complement Heritage Shaved Ribeye Steak for a delicious and satisfying culinary delight.
Ingredients
- 1 12oz. package of Heritage Shaved Ribeye Steak
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 teaspoons chopped fresh oregano
- Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
- 4 rounds pitas
- 1 cup homemade or store-bought tzatziki sauce
- 4 cups shredded lettuce
- 1 pint cherry tomatoes, quartered
- 1 cup crumbled feta cheese
- 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
- 1/2 English cucumber, thinly sliced
Tip: Substitute Heritage Shaved Chicken Breasts for Heritage Shaved Ribeye Steak to create a Greek-Style Chicken Gyro!
Directions
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat oil. Add garlic, and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Add Heritage Shaved Ribeye Steak, oregano, salt and pepper, and cook, pulling apart with a wooden spoon or spatula, until golden-brown and thoroughly cooked, about 3-4 minutes.
- Spread tzatziki evenly over each pita. Top evenly with lettuce, tomato, feta, onion, cucumber and cooked steak. Serve and enjoy.
